BAUERNHAUS LAVANA   

This farm house enjoys an enchanting position, surrounded by the protected area of the St. Antonio Forest.

Lavana is located at an altitude of 577 meters and with just a 3 hour walk, one can arrive at 1500 meters, passing by the forests of chestnut and acacia that surround the house, to those of pine and beech, ending in the grasslands at the top of the mountain, in an uncontaminated nature where antique civilazations such as those of the Celts and the Etruscans walked in the distant past and whose presence is witnessed by several archeological finds conserved in the farmhouse.

Lavana is an independente structure, separated from the house of the owners who are however available for any need that might arise. This is a small family run business whose owners will be able to provide every kind of information about the surrounding area, the forests, plants and animals found within and about the historic farmhouse which has been restructured with simplicity and respect for tradition.

The farmhouse is about 150 square meters in size and consists of a house in stone of antique origin cited by, among others, Dante Alghieri, with 3 bedrooms each with private baths, a fully equipped kitchen, an ample livingroom where one can choose to sit by the fireplace or watch a bit of satellite tv, and a a reading/music room which provides a relaxing and comfortable sofa bed.

In the backyard there is a barbeque where one can cook under a canopy of kiwi plants and relax in the splendid garden; there is also a pool, an alternative to the perhaps even more appealing dips in the waterfall of the Riesco river that runs next to the house.

Lavana is the ideal spot for one who wants to grant himself a period of absolute relax, staying far from the traffic, noise and smog of the cities but who also wants to be able to visit the nearby sites of great interest for turists such as Florence (Firenze) and the many shopping opportunities provided by the famous brand outlet stores in the area.


A place where the absolute silence is broken only by the sounds of nature, but at the same time easily reached as it is situated only a few kilometers from the village center of Reggello which is just 10 kilometers from both the "Incisa" toll gate of the freeway and the Figline Valdarno train station by which it is possible to reach Florence, Arezzo and Rome
Staying at Lavana one can dedicate one's time to, among other things, sporting activities which are difficult to practice elsewhere, such as archery, being as there is on the Lavana grounds an archery range with 20 three-dimentional targets placed along a path which winds through the breathtaking forest, and a natural stone wall equipped for rock climbing. Paragliding from the peaks of the area is the preferred choice of fans of this discipline

and horseback riding is easy thanks to an agreement with the nearby ranch.



The ideal place for long and relaxing walks where one can enjoy the company of their travelling companions amongst the numerous streams and meet animals of all kinds, such as deer, fox, and porcupines.........and with a bit of luck maybe even one of the wolves who make their home in these forests.


Departing from the farmhouse it is possible to hike along numerous trails of varying difficulty.


And of course there are the delicious alimentary products typical to the region, beginning with olive oil, we are in the most famous olive oil production zone in the world, moving on to wine from our neighboring farmers, our organically grown garden vegetables, eggs from our hens, and above all the honey obtained from our hives situated on the edges of the forest.


At the farm many animals of different kinds are at ease and always happy to play with your children. You'll find dogs, rabbits, goats, and several kinds of roosters and chickens. It is also possible to observe our bees busy at work in their hives.
